Board of Directors

The Board of Directors consists of a President, Vice President, a Treasurer, and additional voting members which include a representative from the Unit’s successful volunteer program and one of the Mounted Patrol Officers. The current list of the Board of Directors is as follows.

Diane Mack

President

Diane is the Assistant Controller at Pocono Produce Co., Inc, Stroudsburg, PA.  She received her BS in Business Administration from the University of Scranton, and is a Certified Payroll Professional and Paytrain University Instructor for the American Payroll Association.  In her spare time, Diane enjoys playing tennis, attending theater and concerts, home remodeling projects, horses, and volunteering with the Mounted Patrol Unit.  Honored to serve on the Board, she is a Lehigh Valley resident and shares her home with two rescued cats.

Greg Solderitch

Vice President

Greg currently serves as a Vice President on the board of the Friends of the Bethlehem Mounted Police. Greg was born, raised, and still lives in Bethlehem. He attended Bethlehem Catholic High School and Moravian College.  He is a retired Captain on the Bethlehem Police Dept. Greg owns and rides horses for the past 21 years. Outside of riding, his other passions are golf and the Civil War.

Janet Tate

Treasurer

Through a chance meeting with a former colleague, Janet was recommended and voted onto the Board of Directors - a volunteer opportunity she welcomes with enthusiasm. She and her late husband Gerald admired the Mounted Patrol Unit since its inception, seeing it as a valuable community outreach. Janet recently retired from a career in education, most recently as the supervisor of grants for the Bethlehem Area School District. She takes on the responsibilities of Treasurer with determination to be a conscientious ‘gatekeeper’ of the organization’s finances. Janet notes that spending time with family is her greatest joy. She is a loyal Phillies and Eagles fan, a friend to animals large and small, and looks forward to her role in supporting the mission of the Mounted Patrol Unit for years to come.

James Bartholomew

Secretary

Jim is the Executive Vice President/Senior Lending Officer with Embassy Bank for the Lehigh Valley.  He was born and raised in the Lehigh Valley and currently lives in Bethlehem with his wife Gina of 42 years.  They have three sons, Jimmy, Matt & his wife Jill, and Drew and two grandchildren, Landon and Harper.  In his spare time Jim enjoys being involved with youth athletics and spending time with his family.  He is honored to be a part of the FBMP Board of Directors.

Herman Rij

Herm is a Founding Partner in Quadrant Private Wealth in May 2014 after 43 1/2 yrs. at Merrill Lynch. He was recognized by Barron’s Magazine as a Top Financial  Advisor from  2009 thru 2014. He earned a CIMA designation with IMCA ( Investment Management Consultants Association). Herm graduated from Albright College in 1966 with a BS in Economics and post graduate at Lehigh University in 1969 where he earned an MBA. He has been  married to Claire Risbon Rij since 1967. Herm has two daughters,Kori Lannon and Becky Rij Flynn, along with five granddaughters, Kerry, Elizabeth, Lora, Teegan, and Riley. His hobbies include reading, golf and has two dogs, Swedie and Phinney.

Marissa Zondag

A Bethlehem resident for 23 years and recent graduate of Moravian College, Marissa has been involved in the Bethlehem community throughout her college and the beginning of her professional career.  With 16 years of competitive horseback riding experience, she was elected to be captain of the college’s equestrian team for three years and was able to meet the mounted unit through educational programs that the club participated in.  The club has continued to support the unit for the last four years, and Marissa was thrilled to be asked to join the board and continue her support for them after graduation.  She is employed at the Muhlenburg College as their Associate Director of Annual Giving.

Candice Bjorheim

Candice “Candi” works in the Emotional Support Department for Saucon Valley School District in Lower Saucon Township, Pennsylvania. Formerly, she worked as a Corporate Paralegal.  She attended Pierce College in Philadelphia earning a B.S. in Pre-Law and attended Lehigh University.  Candi has been involved with horses her entire life including competitive showing,Husbandry, rescue and training.  In her spare time, Candi enjoys studying military history, working with/ riding her own horses, volunteering with the Bethlehem Mounted Unit and as a Board Member for a local Animal Rescue.  Candi has lived in the Lehigh Valley for 7 1/2 years with her Husband Kim, daughter and animals. She grew up in Chester County, Pennsylvania as well as lived in Stavanger, Norway. She is honored to be part of the FBMU Board and a Volunteer.

Hon. Emil Giordano

Emil Giordano is a graduate of Bethlehem Catholic High School. He went on to Penn State Allentown before graduating from Moravian College in 1982. After completing his undergraduate degree, he attended Villanova Law School and graduated in 1985.

In 2003, he was elected to serve as Judge on the Northampton County Court of Common Pleas where he served for 15 years before retiring in 2018 after which he became a partner in Cohen, Feeley, Altemose and Rambo. He has deep love of his horses that comes from his late father Joseph Giordano.

Linda Adams

Volunteer Liason

Linda, a lifelong resident of the Lehigh Valley, works in the Department of Nuclear Medicine at Lehigh Valley Health Network-Muhlenberg. She and her husband Jeff live in Bethlehem Township. They have two grown sons, Greg and Ben and a rescued dog named Otis. In her spare time, she enjoys Hiking, Yoga, Reading, and spending time with family and friends. With a long history of volunteering for youth related programs, Linda is excited about her new opportunity and honored to be involved with the Bethlehem Mounted Patrol Unit!
